Lucero Olive Oil is located in Corning, known as The Olive City situated in Tehama County California, an agriculturally rich and diverse region of Northern California. The Mediterranean climate here is ideally suited for growing olives with summer temperatures usually exceed 100º Fahrenheit while winter temperatures hover between 40-50º. Olive trees were introduced to Tehama County in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s for the table olive business, and many of those original plantings still thrive. Today, there are over 5500 productive acres of olives in Tehama County for olive oil as well as for table olives.
In the early years, starting with 25 acres in 1947, we grew and sold olives to the local cannery just as our neighbors did. The Lucero brand name and olive oil business was developed in 2005, our dedicated olive oil mill and plantings followed in 2009, and Tasting Room next to the mill opened in 2010. Today we mill olives from several hundred acres across six orchards producing 17 olive varieties; century-old traditionally spaced Sevillano trees as well as 21st-century medium and high-density plantings.
We sell directly from our farm and mill to consumers, however, you can find us in select shops in America and overseas, too. Give us a call, we'd love to meet you! ( 877-330-2190 or 530-824-2190 9am to 5pm daily.)
Sharing the history of Tehama County’s Olive City with you is our passion, so come visit and enjoy the Lucero Olive Oil tasting or tour experience next time you’re in Northern California.
