Makery 1900, a Downtown Hub for Creativity

Andrea Emerick has opened a new store downtown, Makery 1900, which has quickly become a place for makers to come together to work on crafty projects and socialize.

Andrea has been working on her craft since high school with a senior project in antique restoration, keeping it as a hobby throughout the following years while she worked for the State of California. She took a job transfer to Tehama County in 2008 and has loved the small town feel. “I value tight-knit communities and like to know people in the places I frequent so calling Tehama County home just fits.” 

In 2016, she started selling her furniture online over Craigslist and Facebook until she was inspired to seek an offsite location in June of 2018 and further her dream in Tehama County. Customers and neighboring shops have embraced Andrea and her new store with open arms. She’s flattered to have customers that want her to succeed and describe her shop as “Joanna Gaines” style.

Andrea wants to expand and continue her passion breathing new life into furniture. She wants to be an open door for the community, a place to have fun and socialize for all people. She has started holding community project events and demonstrations. These are quick gratification craft opportunities like painting, doormats, and other small festive and Pinterest style projects.
