Get in the Fall Spirit

Can you feel it? It’s coming. The weather is changing ever so slightly and the sun is sitting just a little differently in the sky. Did you guess where we were going yet? Um . . . it’s almost FALL, Y’ALL. 
 
I don’t know about you, but we can’t think of a better way to celebrate our favorite season than with a trip to one of our favorite roadside fruit stands during their BIG fall event. What event is this you ask? The Great Pumpkin Festival hosted by Julia’s Fruit Stand on September 29th. We had the opportunity to sit down with the owner of Julia’s, Kathy Brandt, and we are more excited than EVER.

This year marks the 13^th Annual Great Pumpkin Festival at the stand. And, let’s just say that the memories that prompted the creation of this wonderful event more than a decade ago make most native Tehama County residents smile and remember the good old days. Kathy told us, “I had such fold memories of Pumpkin Land growing up. I even played Dorothy as part of the patch’s Wizard of Oz theme.” It’s these warm and fuzzy feelings that paved the way for Julia’s creating their own pumpkin event that helps kick off the fall season just right.
 
Julia’s offers so much more than your standard orange pumpkin. Sure they started here, but once they got into it, Kathy explained that she was downright amazed at all the different shapes and sizes. From white and green to jumbo jack-o-lanterns, you can pick up oodles of different pumpkins to round out your fall décor. 
 
What else can you expect in Julia’s perfect patch this year? I think it's safe to say that they are pulling out all of the stops. In addition to an amazing selection of pumpkins, you can also score yourself a delicious tri-tip lunch, a slice of pumpkin pie, and/or dive into a caramel apple from Pumpkin Land.  In addition, Julia's will also be hosting live entertainment ALL DAY LONG and admission is FREE. Talk about a perfect little Sunday.
 
Are you excited yet?  We’ve already marked our calendar for Sunday, September 29^th. It’s the perfect way to kick off the fall season, buy some beautiful pumpkins, and make endless memories with friends and family. Will we see you in Julia’s patch this year? We sure hope so.
