Monday, February 12, 2018
The Tehama Campus of Shasta College has an Economic and Workforce Development Division to address needs of Northern California industries. The division then tailors programs and classes to fit those needs.
They are working to invest in California’s workforce now and for the future. Shasta College partners with industries and businesses to develop highly specialized training. Shasta College is currently part of three grants in the areas of: Advanced Manufacturing, Small Business, and Agriculture, Water and Environmental technologies. There are programs developed for each of the grant areas.
There is also a Pathways 2 Possibilities program that helps students stay in high school and work toward a career path in high demand fields like healthcare and manufacturing. Shasta College also has a program to help expand career technical education programs in California Community Colleges.
All of these programs are helping Shasta College pair with everyone from high school students to skilled workers to create a more skilled job force for years to come.
