RED BLUFF — Local business owners, community members and state officials came together for an open discussion on economic development and the roadblocks that hinder it.
Issues that came up at the meeting included the need for housing, a steady workforce and broadband internet, cumbersome regulations and programs in schools to teach kids and adults about business or trades.
Recurring themes were an increase in construction costs while funding for local entities is declining and the need for improved adult and high school education in trades. Much of the discussion involved complaints about state and federal regulation.
County Supervisor Bob Williams was joined by Tehama County Economic Development Liasions Caylyn Wright and Amanda Jenkins to host the event and note concerns and potential solutions presented by attendees.
