CORNING — The city and community groups have announced a new grant program meant to encourage a better looking downtown.
Local businesses that reside in downtown Corning will be able to apply for funding through the Corning Community Foundation, which is partnering with the city and 3CORE, an economic development district formed at the federal level, to help business owners beautify their storefronts in what has been dubbed the City of Corning Facade Program.
Once the applications are finalized, City Manager Kristina Miller said, business owners will be able to apply for the grants. If approved, they will match up to $1,500 toward storefront upgrades.
Miller said the application process is expected to be finalized within the next few weeks.
