A Visit to Triple Creek Ranch
Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Our visit to Triple Creek Ranch was wonderful! I’ve seen miniature horses many times but seeing them running free over a hillside in Tehama County along with their rescued friends, which included other horses and a friendly dog, was a wonderfully unique experience.
Triple Creek Ranch is a non-profit ranch located in Tehama County and offers therapeutic riding and youth activities, including hosting field trips for local schools. They offer a calming space for wounded veterans and their families to heal and much more.
We met with Ms. Reese, who runs the daily operations of the ranch as she took us on an educational tour around the property. We watched the rescue dog, Pip, train and guide horses into the stables and boy, was he excited to work! The ranch is also home to rescued sheep and goats!
Triple Creek Ranch employs local people in employment programs through the Job Training Center. Ms. Reese is dedicated to helping workers develop soft skills and find permanent jobs in the ranching field. She hopes to be able to secure grant funding to expand the ranch so that they can build awnings onto the barns to supply shade for the animals, replace worn stables and other equipment. Ms. Reese hopes to expand animal rescue services as well. Visit Triple Creek Ranch on Facebook!
