Corning plans for new hires in anticipation of growth

CORNING — Barring a recession or other economic downturn, Corning is in financial shape to begin hiring additional employees in anticipation of the city’s size and population growth.
The new personnel would include a full-time maintenance worker meter reader, a police officer being hired, a police officer being promoted to sergeant and a contracted grants administrator.
