Corning moves closer to annexing subdivision

The annexing of the Magnolia Meadows subdivision into a landscaping and lighting district made progress Tuesday night when the City Council approved taking the next step.
Assessment districts like this one are used by local governments as a tool to raise funds for landscaping, lighting support improvements and maintenance of the city’s park areas. The city wants to expand this district to help offset maintenance costs in the area.
