Zelma’s Awards and Laser Engraving, the amazing business that has supplied trophies, name tags, and custom engraving to the Red Bluff community for the last eight years, has a new face!
Michelle Hickok, who specialized in graphic design for the last 15 years, purchased the business and has started serving the Red Bluff community. Michelle wanted to challenge herself, and owning her own business was a great way to do that. “The business being for sale was a great opportunity to challenge myself creatively and ensure that Zelma’s continues to offer the same great service to the community under the new ownership.”
Patty Lingenfelter, who bought the business in 2010, can still be found popping in here and there to ensure a smooth transition for Zelma’s customers. Patty says, “Michelle is the perfect person for this business. With her enthusiasm & graphics background, the sky's the limit. She will take this business to an amazing new level.”
Michelle plans to integrate her design services with the existing services Zelma’s offers. Michelle plans on expanding production in the future, and will stay up on the latest design techniques to bring the best work to Red Bluff.
Michelle was very involved in the community when she was a student as a beef ambassador and worked at a local business that allowed her to gain experience in the design field. When the opportunity to take her skill set outside of Tehama County arose, she realized she wanted to remain local. “I wanted to offer my skills in the community that supported me throughout my education.” Michelle gives back to the community with her involvement in Expect More Tehama and values business and education collaborating. “It’s important to prepare our students for the real world and give them the tools they need to succeed.” Another one of her passions is soccer and she loves coaching youth in the Red Bluff community.
Michelle is excited to be in the downtown hub and participate in our staple downtown events. She believes in being directly involved in growth and community development and plans to do that with her new venture in Red Bluff.
