Local Family Brings New Business Concept to Tehama County
Tuesday, July 24, 2018
Jake and Rachelle Gould grew up immersed in agriculture and strive to continue that value with their children. With Rachelle as a member of Sunrise Rotary and Soroptimist International of Red Bluff and the couple seeing family ran farms and ranches on the decline, they wanted a business model that supported local agriculture and encompassed a passion for community. With this in mind, Field to Fork Tehama LLC began to form with the end goal of connecting our community with our local farmers and ranches.
Field to Fork Tehama, LLC is a family owned, multi-farm CSA based in Red Bluff. Members receive a weekly box filled with seasonal vegetables, fruit and protein with add-on options such as eggs, honey, and oils. Each week Jake and Rachelle Gould pick up items from their local suppliers, fill boxes and offer a pick-up location on Thursday’s. Farms featured include: Kitchel Family Organics, Llano Seco, Garden of Hope, and The Pharm.
Rachelle wants to see new ideas and more small businesses opening in Tehama County and leaves potential business owners with this thought from her experience: "Starting a new business can be scary. However, when I reached out to community members for advice I received nothing but support. I found that everyone I approached wanted to guide me in the correct direction and wanted to see a new business succeed. The more people I talked with the more I found that residents want locally owned small businesses here and were willing to support them. With all of the support I received the fear of starting a business started to be replaced with excitement."
